Our promises
Things you can hold us to.
We'd rather make promises you can check than hang a badge in the footer. Everything below is either in our own terms and conditions, in our Companies House record, or written in our reviews by the people we did the work for.
01
You get a named electrician, not a stranger
Before we turn up you'll know who's coming. Mark, Rob, Harry and Ed are the names customers write into their reviews — “the job was done by Rob, I cannot praise him highly enough”, “Harry and Ed went above and beyond” — and they're the same people who'll knock on your door. No subcontractor we met this morning.
02
Tested, certified, and labelled for the next person
Where the work calls for it, it's tested and certified, and the board gets labelled with the date of inspection and the recommended date of the next one. If we write you a report, it says what actually needs doing and what doesn't — that's the point of paying someone independent for one.
03
A quotation that holds for 28 days
Our quotations are valid for 28 days from the date we give them, so you've time to think without the number moving. Prices we quote are exclusive of VAT unless we say otherwise — we'd rather be plain about that up front than surprise you on the invoice.
04
Somebody answers at three in the morning
The emergency line runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We'll try to help you fix or make safe the fault over the phone first where that's possible — it costs you nothing and often works — and if we're coming out, we aim to be with you within the hour.
05
We come back
In our own words: we believe in continued service to our customers, rather than the “first job, never to be seen again” approach. That's why so many of our reviews are from people on their second or third job with us, and why landlords and managing agents keep us on maintenance arrangements.
06
Certification sent over before you book
We work to NICEIC Approved Contractor and Part P standards. Rather than print scheme numbers on a website where nobody can check them, ask us and we'll send our current certification and insurance across before you commit to anything. Company number 06492772 is on Companies House if you want to start there.
07
Larger jobs, staged fairly
On bigger installations where the sum runs over £4,000, we invoice in interim stages with payment due within 14 days, so neither of us is carrying the whole job. You'll know the staging before we start rather than finding out halfway through.
08
Straight talking, no upsell
“Honest, reliable, straight-talking, trustworthy, not greedy and a pleasure to work with.” That's a customer's description, not ours, and it's the standard we'd like to be held to. If a circuit doesn't need replacing, we'll tell you it doesn't.
